A breast revision surgery is performed as a breast reconstructive surgery. It involves correcting the previous breast surgical procedures undergone to enhance the breasts. A breast revision surgery will be performed in the same way a breast augmentation or a breast implant surgery would be performed i.e. by creating an incision into the breast region, correcting or replacing the saline or silicone implants and closing the incision by applying sutures.
Before surgery, avoid smoking, consumption of alcohol or intake or aspirin, multivitamins and anti- inflammatory medication. Consume high protein, low sodium foods and have fresh fruits and vegetables. Try to consume a clean diet by avoiding heavy foods. Avoid caffeine. You will be required to stay at the clinic for at least two days for post- operative purposes after your surgery, so plan and pack accordingly.
After surgery, make sure you follow all the post- operative instructions as will be guided by your patient coordinator and do not remove your compression garment. Take adequate rest and try to sleep on your back. Avoid showers, sauna and direct contact of the surgical area to come in contact with water for at least 2 weeks. Drainage tubes will be attached to your breasts and will be removed by the medical staff in one of your post- op appointments. You will experience some normal symptoms such as scarring and milf pin which is expected to disappear with time.
